Offshore wind inter-array cable crossing markers

⚠ Illustrative example, composed to demonstrate the resource hub. Figures are indicative.

Applies to: Offshore wind →

The situation

An offshore wind development routed several inter-array cables across existing pipelines and third-party cables. Each crossing is a point of interest for survey and future intervention, and the developer wanted clear, durable identification at the crossings and along the route, using materials that suited the project's environmental commitments.

The approach

  • Flexible Aquasign markers that wrap and stay put on cables and at cable protection systems.
  • Clear crossing identification where inter-array cables meet existing infrastructure.
  • A 100% non-toxic system with no biocide leaching, consistent with the project's environmental case.

The outcome

Survey teams could confirm crossings and cable routes without ambiguity, and the identification is expected to remain legible for the life of the array without any cleaning intervention. The non-toxic material removed a small but real compliance question from the subsea scope.

On a busy seabed, unambiguous crossing identification is what keeps a survey fast and a future intervention safe.
