The challenge

Decommissioning is a concurrent, tightly-planned activity across subsurface, subsea and topsides. Structures are cut and recovered, and the seabed is surveyed to identify and recover remaining debris, a regulatory requirement in most jurisdictions. All of that goes faster and safer when assets are clearly identified. On an ageing field, they frequently are not.
